ACQUISITIONS ASSOCIATE/ASSET MANAGER

 

We are seeking an experienced Asset Manager to join our team. The candidate will primarily be charged with the asset management of a portfolio of commercial properties representing different product types (office, industrial, and retail) and multiple geographies. The complexity of the assets assigned will be based on experience level. The Asset Manager will also assist in Acquisition and Disposition-related tasks. The Asset Manager will report directly to the Executive Vice President and will work closely with other members of the asset management and acquisitions team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement property-level strategies. 
  • Work with 3rd party property managers to maximize performance of assets.
  • Carry out strategies including lease-up, construction oversight and land entitlements.
  • Analyze and negotiate lease renewals and coordinate new leasing with third-party leasing brokers.
  • Assist with refinancing of properties.
  • Prepare property budgets, forecasts, valuations, and reports. 
  • Assist in financial modeling, analysis, and due diligence for new acquisitions.
  • Assist in preparing Investment Analyses for presentation to our Board.
  • Assist in disposition efforts.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a concentration in Finance, Real Estate or Economics; MBA a plus.
  • Minimum of five years in the commercial real estate industry.
  • Prior experience in either investment/asset management or leasing and operations for a multi-property type portfolio and/or institutional investor/owner.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Excel, ARGUS and Word. Experience with MRI a plus.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate, manage and prioritize multiple assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, partners and consultants.
  • Self-starter, strong work ethic and accustomed to an entrepreneurial environment.
